TF059 is a chassis-mounted spare wheel carrier for classic Land Rover Defender 90 and 110. It is suitable for pickups and station wagons where the spare wheel carrier needs to open independently of the rear door or tailgate.
Mounting larger, heavier spare wheels on the rear door can cause rattling, cracks and damage, particularly on rough terrain. TF059 carries the spare wheel on the chassis instead of the rear door.
The single-arm carrier has a lockable over-centre lever mechanism. A gas strut assists opening and helps prevent the carrier from swinging closed under its own weight, including when the vehicle is on a side slope.
